PUY DU FOU
A widely popular Theme Park of some 50 acres to include features such as the excitement of chariot racing, gladiators and lions in a realistic Roman Arena, and the newest and luxuriously produced event – The Musketeers. Le Grand Parc is open to the public throughout the day, and an amazingly well-choreographed evening Spectacular is held twice a week from June until mid-September.
MARAIS POITEVIN
Known locally as the Venise verte…Green Venice, composed of a myriad of stunningly beautiful canals which one can explore by boat. Interesting restaurants and wild-life.
SABLES D’OLONNE
Clean, sandy beaches stretching along the Atlantic coastline, extremely popular as a cosmopolitan seaside resort.
ILE de RE and LA ROCHELLE
The Isle de Re is joined to the Atlantic coastline by a spectacular bridge, and is of great historical interest. Its main town of Saint Martin possesses several good restaurants, known for their seafood.
La Rochelle is a well-known port and Marina a few miles south of the Isle de Re. The town is of historical note, and has good markets in the summer. A local airport offers low-cost flights to and from England.
